about us...

Growing together in Auchenblae since 1977

Families have been bringing their children to Auchenblae Pre-School Group for generations. Plenty has changed since we began in 1977, but the heart of the group is familiar: children who are free to play, caring adults who know them well, and a community that wants them to thrive.

We are a Scottish registered charity run by a volunteer committee. Families and supporters help make the group possible, while our early years practitioners bring care, experience and thought to each day in the playroom.

We start with the child
in front of us

Some children head straight for the mud kitchen. Others want to watch for a while, find a favourite puzzle or stay close to a familiar adult. We welcome all of them. Our job is to notice what makes each child curious, help them feel secure and offer the right encouragement as they grow.

We want children to feel that they belong here. That means listening to families, respecting different needs and giving children time to build confidence in their own way.

Play is serious learning,
and it should be fun

When children play, they practise talking and listening, testing ideas, solving problems, moving, creating and getting along with others.

Our practitioners support that learning without taking the joy out of it. There is room for a plan, and room for a child’s unexpected idea to become the best part of the day.

Part of something bigger

Auchenblae Pre-School Group belongs to the village as well as to the families who attend. Our volunteer committee, local supporters and fundraising efforts help us provide the resources and experiences children enjoy.

We would love to show you what that looks like in person.
